Nail art stripes mani

Hi, everyone!

This is my first post of 2015!

I was inspired by another nail blogger I follow on Instagram (Lovelymugglenails) to recreate a stripes mani in a different color combination. Check out the pics below... I really like how it turned out :)

The beautiful grey polish is "Intelligence, Integrity, & Courage" from China Glaze's The Giver collection, and the stripes were free-handed by using all five of the colors included in The New Black's "Digital Underground" set (I was lucky enough to find this set on clearance for only $7 at TJ Maxx!).

So, what do you think? I actually made a New Years resolution this time, and I decided that I will work more on my free-handed nail art skills. It's going to be a challenge, but I'm looking forward to it! I'll see you later with a new look :) Happy New Year!

The New Black Demi Lovato Safari

Hi!

It's Wednesday! I hope your week is going well (and fast instead of dragging on and on). Today I have one more look to show you from the Demi Lovato and The New Black collaboration. I picked up the "Safari" set a few days ago, and decided to have a little bit of fun with it. I hope you like how it turned out!

I used all of the polishes you see in the last pic, and played with some striping tape (not included with this kit). I painted on the gold and green flakes (my favorite part of this set) over the black and gold glitter polish on my thumb, index, and pinkie nails. I then painted the hunter green and silver polishes in free-handed stripes on my ring and middle nails, waited for that to dry, then placed down the look I wanted with the striping tape. I followed that up by painting two fast coats of the off-white creme on top, and pulled the tape off while it was still wet. I must say I'm quite proud of how this look came out because I'm honestly not very experienced with striping tape. This is probably just my third time or so using it. I'm getting better, though!

If you like everything you see included in this nail art set, then you can either pick this one and other The New Black collections at your nearest Ulta store. If you do not have an Ulta within reasonable driving distance, order these online. So, tell me what you think! I'm so glad I decided to grab some goodies from The New Black! See ya next time!

The New Black Demi Lovato "Stylized" and "Shattered"

Hi!

Happy Friday! Today I have what's probably my most daring nail art look so far. You all know that I love designed nail polish appliqués, but when I saw The New Black and Demi Lovato collaboration sets at Ulta last week, I couldn't refuse! I picked up three of the Demi Lovato sets, and combined two of them (I HAD to get the "Shattered" set just for the gold flakies) for the look you'll see below.

This probably would have been a good time to do a pictorial, but I had no one around to help me take pics! The New Black sets come with everything you see in the pics above, except for the striping tape to create the lines you see on my thumb nail, and to section off the color blocks on my ring finger nail. I also used nail art glue to stick on the studs, but most ladies use clear nail polish.

How do you think this turned out? I actually really love it, and can't wait to play with the "Safari" set next! These Demi Lovato nail polishes are available at most Ulta stores (at a marked down price), and directly from The New Black online. I hope you enjoyed this post, and I'll see ya next time!

The New Black "From Russia With Love"

Hi!

I absolutely love the mani I have to show you today. I had been eyeing this set of "From Russia With Love" nail polishes and nail art goodies from the brand The New Black for quite some time. Every time I've walked into an Ulta beauty store, I would pick it up, practically drool at all the awesomeness contained in the package, and put it back down. It might have been the price that kept me back for a while ($24), but I finally decided to go for it for the other day, and boy am I glad I did. I used a little bit of everything that came in the package; from the rhinestones, the Matroyshka doll nail stickers, and both nail polish colors to create a simple nail art look that you are going to see below. I hope you like it as much as I do!

Cute, huh? I would say that for my first The New Black experience, I'm quite satisfied! I was a bit worried about how the Matroyshka doll stickers would apply to my curved nail beds, but in the end they turned out just fine. The formula of the nail polishes was great, and they both covered nicely in two coats; and dried fairly quick. I'm so glad I finally went for it, and I even grabbed a Demi Lovato set too! I can't wait to play with that one! ;)

I got this super cute set from Ulta, but you could also purchase The New Black products from their website, and Sephora as well.  So, what do you think? See ya next time!
